Custom systems for telecom, ISPs, and MDU providers
Opero designs, builds, and operates custom systems for telecom companies, internet service providers, and MDU operators: sales, construction, network monitoring, Wi-Fi provisioning, portals, customer service, and billing in one system, across any hardware vendor.
One system for the whole operation
Telecom and internet providers usually run on a patchwork: a CRM for sales, a separate billing and service platform, network monitoring tools, and a management console for each hardware vendor. Some industry software models parts of the business well, but each tool covers one piece, and people fill the gaps between them.
A custom system ties it together. Sales, construction, the network, residents and subscribers, portals, customer service, and billing share one data model, across every hardware vendor you use.
What the system covers
- Sales and contracts: new properties and accounts, opportunities, contract renewals, and pipeline reporting
- Construction and deployment: tracking builds and installs from signed contract to live service
- Network monitoring: gateways, access points, switches, and circuits, with the health of the full network chain from each unit up
- Device management: connected devices, bandwidth, and remote actions, through vendor APIs and open protocols such as TR-069 and RADIUS
- Wi-Fi provisioning: personalized networks and MPSK or PPSK passwords for every unit, created at move-in and revoked at move-out
- Residents and subscribers: properties, units, residents, building owners, and property management companies, each modeled the way the business works
- Customer service: cases from residents and property managers, with network status on the same screen
- Billing: subscriptions, invoicing, and payments connected to the rest of the system
- AI where it does real work: phone and SMS support that knows about current issues, call summaries, and triage
Outages, handled
When the network, the units, and the residents live in one system, an outage becomes a known event instead of a flood of calls. The system identifies exactly which residents are affected and notifies them. Phone and SMS support tells callers about the known issue before they wait for an agent. When service is restored, updates go out automatically. Support volume stays manageable during the moments that matter most.
Portals for property managers and residents
Property manager portal: buildings, units, and residents at a glance; move residents in and out; open and track support tickets; and see live network status for each building. Move-ins and move-outs can sync with property and lease management software such as RealPage.
Resident portal: residents manage their own in-unit Wi-Fi and get help without calling.
Portals are part of the system you own, so every property manager and resident can be invited at no per-user cost.
Any vendor, any protocol
Hardware decisions should not be limited by software. Opero integrates with any system that has an API and with open protocols, so you can choose equipment on its merits and still manage everything from one place.
From experience
Opero designed and built this kind of system for an internet service provider serving MDUs, first on Salesforce and then as a custom system that replaced it. Read what we learned.

Common questions
Can a custom system work with hardware from different vendors?
Yes. Opero integrates with any vendor that has an API, and with open protocols such as TR-069 for device management and RADIUS for authentication, so gateways, access points, and network equipment from different vendors are managed in one place.
Can it manage MPSK or PPSK Wi-Fi?
Yes. Per-unit and per-resident passwords on a shared Wi-Fi network, often called MPSK or PPSK, are provisioned automatically when residents move in and revoked when they move out.
Can it integrate with our property management software?
Yes. Move-ins and move-outs can sync with property and lease management systems such as RealPage, so resident records stay current without rekeying.
How does the system handle network outages?
Because units, residents, and the network topology live in one system, an outage identifies exactly who is affected. Those residents are notified, phone and SMS support can tell callers about the known issue, and updates go out automatically when service is restored.
Why not use Salesforce or industry-specific software?
General-purpose CRMs force properties, units, and residents into generic records and need custom code for network data. Industry tools are usually built for one job, such as billing or monitoring one vendor's hardware. A custom system ties every part of the operation together, around how your business works.
