Custom CRM development

Opero designs, builds, and operates custom CRM systems around how your business sells, serves, and bills. No per-user licenses. One firm from design through operation.

A CRM built around how you work

Most CRM projects start with a platform and bend the business to fit it. A custom CRM starts with the business: how leads come in, how deals are quoted and closed, how customers are onboarded, served, and billed. Then the system is designed around that, for the staff who use it every day and the customers on the other side.

What we build

  • Sales: pipeline, quoting, contracts, and the handoff from signed deal to active customer
  • Service: cases, field work, outage and incident communication, and knowledge
  • Portals: customer and partner portals on your own domain
  • Communication: email, SMS, and calling built into the record, not bolted on
  • Billing and payments: connected to your accounting system so nothing is rekeyed
  • Reporting: the numbers your team actually runs the business on
  • AI where it does real work: call and conversation summaries, drafting, triage, and pulling structure out of documents

Why custom instead of a platform

It fits the process. No working around a vendor's way of doing things, and no extra apps to fill gaps.

No per-user licenses. Adding people does not raise the cost of the software.

One system instead of several. Sales, service, portals, and billing share one data model instead of syncing between products.

You can change anything. Changes ship as fast as you can decide on them.

Experience

Travis Ramsey, Opero's founder, has designed and implemented CRM systems since 2008: around 900 projects at Ramsey Solutions, six Salesforce products used by thousands of customers, and custom systems outside Salesforce. Opero recently moved an internet service provider off Salesforce onto a custom system it designed, built, and now operates.

How it works

Every engagement starts with a free review: what you run today, what a custom CRM would replace, a rough estimate, and the license costs it would remove. From there, Build gets the system live, Evolve keeps extending it, and Operate keeps it running. See how the service works.

What it costs

Most custom CRM builds run three to nine months, roughly $150,000 to $430,000 depending on scope, then $12,000 a month to operate. See pricing and the cost calculator, or read what it costs to build a custom CRM in 2026.

Who it is for

  • Companies on Salesforce, HubSpot, or Dynamics paying for licenses and workarounds
  • Companies running on spreadsheets and disconnected tools
  • Startups building their first real system and wanting it built right

You own all of it

Common questions

How long does it take to build a custom CRM?

Most builds go live in three to nine months, depending on how many processes the system covers. A single core process, such as sales tracking and quoting, can be live in about three months.

Can you migrate our data from Salesforce, HubSpot, or Dynamics?

Yes. Accounts, contacts, opportunities, cases, activity history, and files are mapped into the new data model and migrated as part of the build, with a test migration before go-live.

Can a custom CRM integrate with our accounting, phone, and billing systems?

Yes. Integrations are designed as part of the system rather than added later: accounting, payments, telephony and SMS, email, and industry systems such as network or field service tools.

Do you use AI coding tools to build?

Yes. AI coding tools like Claude Code make building faster and less expensive. The design, the data model, the security, and the decisions along the way come from an experienced architect.

Who supports the CRM after launch?

Opero does. Operate covers monitoring, security, tested backups, support, and a monthly allocation of changes. You own all of the code, so you can also take it in house.
